School Workshops — Supporting Outdoor Learning

School Workshops are designed to bring the ethos of Forest School to your school grounds, supporting teachers and students to explore learning in the natural environment. These sessions introduce Forest School principles and focus on developing a rich, inspiring outdoor learning space that links directly to the curriculum.

Workshops can be one-off sessions or run over six weeks, tailored to your school’s setting and learning goals.

Through hands-on, nature-based experiences, children and staff work together to build confidence, creativity, and a deeper connection with the natural world. Sessions model simple, practical ways to take learning outside and support teachers in embedding outdoor learning across the curriculum.

Outdoor Learning & Nature-Based Professional Development

Our workshops are designed for adults who work with children or anyone looking to connect with nature alongside like-minded individuals.

We focus on helping educators confidently take learning outdoors, exploring the Forest School approach and the educational benefits of nature-based learning and outdoor play.

Training is hands-on and educational, using practical activities such as bushcraft, nature art, stories, and games to build confidence and understanding of the natural world. Sessions can include training in areas such as bushcraft, fire lighting, shelter building, and knot tying — all designed to support outdoor learning and teaching practice. Tailored to the specific interests and needs of your group, we work with:

✔️ ELC practitioners & students
✔️ Teachers & school staff
✔️ Colleges & education providers
✔️ Parents & caregivers
✔️ Scout groups
✔️ County Childcare Committees
✔️ Team-building groups

These sessions can be delivered in various formats, such as workshops, in-service training, or talks.
